What Lampard said about Edouard Mendy after his error against Everton

Edouard Mendy Clumsy decision against Everton led to Chelsea conceding a penalty which Sigurdsson converted to eventually win the game and ended Chelsea’s 17 unbeaten run at Goodison Park.

It was obvious Edouard Mendy could have done better on the incident that led to the penalty but Frank Lampard feels it was not just his mistake, that the team let the Senegalese goal keeper down by not being sharper for the second balls.

Speaking after the match about Edouard Mendy, Lampard said:

Yes [it was unlike Mendy], he’s been fantastic since he’s been here. Clearly not just his mistake either. Our mentality with second balls wasn’t good.

Chelsea will travel to face Wolves tomorrow as another crucial fixture as the loss against Everton means the blues are already sitting 5th outside top 4.
