Match Preview
Chelsea will play Wolves tonight at the Molineux Stadium. See match time and other information above.
The Blues were left in disappointment last weekend as Everton ended their 17-games unbeaten run and will be looking to bounce back tonight while Wolves will be hoping to gather themselves to put out a strong fight today as they have been unable to do so since their star man Raul Jiminez went on a head injury.
Stats
- Wolves have lost four of the five Premier League games when Raul Jimenez hasn’t started, scoring 0.4 goals per game compared to 1.3 with him in the starting 11.
- Chelsea could lose back-to-back Premier League matches for the first time in a year. The two defeats in December 2019 started with a loss at Goodison Park.
Injuries Update
Lampard confirmed in his press conference yesterday that Christian Pulisic who was out of the squad for Everton will be available for selection against Wolves but didn’t say if he would be on the starting lineup or not.
Chelsea greatly missed the presence a natural winger in their defeat to Everton and the return of Christian Pulisic will really be a boost for the squad tonight.
However Chelsea still remain without wingers Hudson Odoi and Playmaker Ziyech as they are still under recovery from an hamstring injury so Lampard would have to find a way to make it happen tonight with them.
Possible Lineup
With the way the game turned out against Everton, it is no surprise that Lampard immediately added Pulisic to the squad because without Ziyech in there, then there need to be someone to perform a little bit of magic in the attack, something we didn’t see from Havertz against Everton.
Pulisic may not be fully fit but at this level he will be needed in the game and might be the only changes Lampard makes from the team that suffered defeat against Everton by substituting Havertz for him.
