Chelsea suffered another defeat away from home at the Molineux Stadium just few days after Everton ended their 17 games unbeaten run at Goodison park.
Chelsea opened the scoring just after the break but were unable to hold on and conceded two goals, throwing away the lead and loosing all three points in the process.
Lampard started with Giroud upfront and while the France international continued to deliver the goods, his attacking counterpart Timo Werner had a frustrating night at the wing.
What’s went wrong?
It is hard to pinpoint the problem in the game as all sections could have done better starting from the goal keeper to the strikers but according to Lampard, Chelsea’s inability to counter press and avoid counter attack cost them the game.
Many fans feel however that the absence of Kovacic in the game added to the defeat. The Croatian wasn’t brought in untill Wolves had equalised to make it 1-1 and maybe if he was introduced earlier, he could have had the chance to give Chelsea more control of the midfield and avoided the equaliser.
Chelsea have to get themselves up quickly as we are in a period of packed Premier League Schedules (December).
The blues will face West Ham next at Stamford Bridge and will be looking to pick up the form again from there but it will by no means be an easy derby as the Hammers are roaring in hot form currently.
