Timo Werner has now failed to score in each of his last seven starts for Chelsea in all competitions, which is the German’s longest run of starts without a goal in club competition since September 2016.
However Frank Lampard seems not to be bothered about this because Timo keeps getting into scoring positions regularly and he believes he will start scoring soon
Speaking about Timo after Chelsea defeated West Ham yesterday, Lampard said:
He is getting into positions regularly, scaring teams and causing problems. It’s not quite going for him at the moment but he will start scoring soon.
Premier League Icon Alan Shearer also believes Timo shouldn’t be too worried that he isn’t converting those chance. However, he should be worried if the chances stops coming.
Speaking in the post match analysis after the West Ham game, the All time Premier League highest goal scorer said:
He shouldn’t be worried that he misses chances, he should be worried when he doesn’t get them
