Match Preview

Chelsea will take on the English 4th division side Morecambe on Sunday in the third round of the FA Cup.

Chelsea have won just one game in their last six games in all competitions while Morecambe are in a four game winning streak currently.

Frank Lampard however will be hoping to get a good win today despite Chelsea’s recent poor form and maybe pickup the pace in the process for future games.

Injury Update

Lampard comfirmed in his press conference ahead of this fixture that Reece James, Andreas Christensen and Ngolo Kante are all ruled out due to hamstring injuries.

The boss also revealed that some of the academy players trained and might step in place of these players.

Reece James is out, although he will train with us tomorrow. The same with Christensen and Kante is out with a minor hamstring and is suspended for Fulham anyway. They are out. The young players have been training with us.

Expected Lineup

Lampard clearly stated in his press conference that he will be involving some of the young and academy players for the game while also give some first teams player the avenue to gain more confidence.

We are expecting a starting lineup containing the likes of Tino Anjorin, Billy Gilmour and Livramento.

From the supposed first team players, Kepa, Hudson Odoi, Kai Havertz and Jorginho could also be involved and maybe Ziyech to improve his fitness.
