Werner reveals one thing Tuchel is doing to help him that Lampard didn’t

After signing for the Blues last summer, Timo Werner would have anticipated a much better first season for the Blues in terms of scoring output.

The German has failed to score in his last 14 Premier League games which is his longest run without a league goal in his career.

Chelsea’s former head coach Frank Lampard played Werner mostly as pure winger and while the German’s work rate and assists were impressive, he just couldn’t get the ball into the back of the net.

Many blamed it on Frank Lampard for deploying him out wide which Werner comfirms isn’t his favourite position.

With the appointment of Thomas Tuchel, Werner still hasn’t been able to find the back of the net but comfirms that the role Tuchel is trying to play him in suits him better.

Tuchel revealed earlier that he would find a way to bring the best out of Timo by playing up front very close to the striker, more like an inside forward so he would hunt defense with his speed and runs and after a man of the match display against Sheffield United yesterday, Werner has himself comfirmed that.

Speaking to the media after the game yesterday, Timo Werner said:

Every manager is different, he (Tuchel) gives us a lot of ideas, I play as a left 10, not a winger, so I have more space in the middle, I play behind a striker or with a 10 behind me, it’s very good for me.
