We expect Thomas Tuchel to stick with his usual 3-4-3 formation even after the draw against Southampton.

The Blues have started well in his reign utilising mostly that formation.

With the absence of Thiago Silva, we expect Kurt Zouma to fill in as we would need a physical presence at the middle for Luiz Suarez.

Tuchel also commended Zouma’s performance in our last game against Southampton and would most likely start ahead of Christensen who is the other available option.

I learned a lot of positive things about Kurt Zouma in his performance which was very positive. We decided it late to put him on the pitch. “He had a good game. He was present and clear in his actions. He fulfilled his role at the top level, very very good.

Alongside Zouma, we expect to see Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta who have both been regular starters since the arrival of Tuchel.

Hudson Odoi and Ben Chilwell will most likely start at either Wing backs.

Hudson Odoi was subbed in the last match after only coming on at half time but Tuchel has commended his effort in training and hinted already that he could start today.

We decided to speak to Callum in front of the whole group not alone. For us it was not a big thing. I know it can be sometimes. Still I did it and we had the only reaction we wanted he went back to a good mood and trained well. This is the lesson for us to learn.

At Central midfield, Kante and Kovacic could be the most compatible choice for Atletico Madrid.

Kante’s game was exceptional against Southampton that even Tuchel admitted Chelsea aren’t making use of the work Kante is doing for them in terms of converting his breakup plays and interceptions to goals.

Tuchel:

We need to use these ball wins from N’Golo and use them better to attack the space behind the last line better. We need to use our speed better to create more chances. There are a lot of possibilities in the last matches.

The forward line of Tammy Abraham, Timo Werner and Mason Mount was poor against Southampton with only Mason the real threat throughout so we are expecting a slight change with the inclusion of experience like Giroud.
