Lampard during his press conference today ahead of Chelsea’s EFL clash against Barnsley just confirmed that Mendy is currently undergoing his Chelsea’s medical and will be a Chelsea player very soon once everything goes well.
Also Lampard confirmed that Mendy doesn’t need to quarantine which means he will be joining the squad immediately but would join the rest team in the regular Covid 19 test on Thursday.
Lampard also commented on the effect Mendy will bring to the Chelsea’s squad especially on Kepa. The Chelsea manager said competition is a normal thing for a club like Chelsea and everyone has to fight for his place. He also hopes that Mendy competition will be able to push Kepa into working and performaning better.
Both keepers are currently the trending topics in the club but we shouldn’t forget we still have Caballero who Lampard claims has been working hard and comfirmed he will be starting against Barnsley on Wednesday.
