They will not want to change too much but there were some targets in the summer that they missed.

The top man is Declan Rice, who remained at West Ham after they blocked all bids for the England international.

That has not stopped Chelsea taking an interest and they will go again while the outcasted Fikayo Tomori is also facing a mid-season exit.

Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Rice looking to emulate Kante at Chelsea

Former Blues academy star and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has opened up on his admiration N’Golo Kante as rumours continue to circulate about him returning to west London.

“The main one I’ve always watched is Kanté in my position,” he told the Times. “The way he protects the back four, the way he intercepts, always in position.

“I think I’m fairly good at that but there are still things I can do that can take me to the next level.”

Lampard planning January clear out

Chelsea are believed to be planning to sell up to four first team players this winter to raise funds and trim his bloated squad.

Number one priority is back up goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is on a long-term contract worth £190,000 per week.

Left-back duo Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are also on the chopping block, having failed to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard is also keen to get rid of a centre-back option, with Fikayo Tomori potentially heading out on loan, unless Antonio Rudiger can finally seal a move away.

Gerrard addresses Gilmour speculation

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has addressed the rumours that he is looking to sign young midfielder Billy Gilmour, seemingly putting the speculation to bed.

“From what I see from afar, I think Billy Gilmour is pretty settled at Chelsea,” the Gers boss said. “He has obviously had an injury. Every time I listen to Frank [Lampard] he’s really happy with the player.

“There’s nothing in it from our side, but what I will say is he is a fabulous little player and we wish him well.”
