Lampard reveals the category of players who will start in our FA Cup match on Sunday

Chelsea will host League Two side Morecambe on Sunday in the FA Cup third round and Frank Lampard has given an hint on the kind of players he will field that day.

Lampard will not be drawn on his starting line-up for the Cup tie but reveals a number of young players have been training with the group due to changes in the Covid bubble rules, which is a big plus, and some may be involved against Morecambe.

He admits he will use the Morecambe to help players build confidence again, while also giving minutes to those who need it.

Speaking in his press conference today ahead of the match Lampard said about team selection for the game:

The academy players have been tested and they have been in to train with us and some may be involved on Sunday.

Confidence has been hit with the difficult patch we’ve had. But I’ll pick a team to try to win the game.

Finally, Frank explains how the young players training with the group have helped everyone as it keeps intensity high and allows them to develop further. ‘They have real potential for us” he adds.
