Kounde linked to Chelsea
The news that Chelsea were chasing Jules Kounde from Sevilla broke just 48 hours ago, but already it has become one of the most popular signings among the Blues fans.
Valuation apart at present
However, they appear to be some way short of Sevilla’s valuation at present, despite offering to include Kurt Zouma in the deal. As per Goal correspondent Francisco Rico, Sevilla are intent on holding out for close to the Frenchman’s 80 million euro release clause.
If Zouma were to be included in the deal, which the Spanish side are thought to prefer to avoid but have not ruled out, then Sevilla would look to demand around 45 million euros (38 million pounds) for their young star.
Meanwhile, the same report suggests that Sevilla will not be pressured into selling their asset, having already put their finances into order through the sale of Bryan Gil to Tottenham Hotspur, for a fee of around 25 million euros.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be willing to stump up the considerable amount of cash that Sevilla may yet demand, although it is fair to say that if any club could, it would be the blues.
