Brazilian players that didn’t travel to international duty will be suspended for this weekends Premier League action.

Premier League teams blocked their players from leaving on international duty due to worries over the amount of game time players would miss from quarantine rules.

However, the Brazilian FA have triggered a FIFA ruling that means the affected players will not be available between the 10-14 of September.

Ederson, Allison, and Fabinho are among the players who will be unavailable for selection over the weekend.

Liverpool are the among hardest hit teams, and their opponents, Leeds United, will be without their star man, Raphinha.

This means that Chelsea and Manchester United will be without players for their Premier League fixtures over the weekend and their Champions League clashes on Tuesday evening.

However, Manchester City will be able to welcome back Ederson and Gabriel Jesus for their fixture with RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
If the Premier League sides opt to field the ineligible players, then under Article 22 of Fifa’s disciplinary code, they could forfeit the match 3-0.

It is unclear what will happen in the Leeds Liverpool clash if both sides field ineligible players.

Liverpool will be without Fabinho and Alisson, while Chelsea will be missing Thiago Silva, and Leeds will be without their star winger Raphinha.

Ederson and Gabriel Jesus are unavailable for City, while Fred won’t be able to sit at the base of the the Red Devils midfield.

However, Everton will be able to select Richarlison after Brazil waived their right to ask for him to be suspended.

The Brazilian FA accepted, according to The Times, that Everton released him for international duty at the Olympics over the summer.

With Ederson now unavailable, and second-choice keeper Zack Steffen testing positive for Covid-19 when on international duty with the US national side.

This could leave Guardiola forced to select Scott Carson for their Premier League clash with Leicester City.
