Fans have been wanting to know why the unpleasant treatment from Tuchel to Chilwell and finally Tuchel speaks on the issue during his press conference ahead of Zenith’s game.

Tuchel claims the lack of game time Chilwell suffered in the Euros and the availability of Marcos Alonso during the pre season played a huge role.

What Tuchel Said:

“It has been difficult for him(Chilwell). It was a tough Euros for him. I felt him mentally tired when he returned, worried about the situation. He was very unlucky I think because Marcos was here the whole pre-season and took this opportunity so well.”

Tuchel believes the snub from England affected Chilwell mentally and he brought that to the Chelsea camp during the preseason, feeling not ready.

The boss however insisted that things are calm with Chilly as they’ve had a discussion already between them about this situation, urging the 24 years old to keep training and be ready when his chance comes.

What Tuchel Said:

“We had talks with Chilly about the situation. There are no further worries for Chilly He has to be patient and keep on training.”

Chilwell could see his chance come sooner rather than later as Chelsea will host Zenith at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The boss could give him a chance in order to allow Marcos Alonso who has had a heavy start in this campaign rests for Chelsea’s next Premier League game which is against Tottenham.
