Brentford manager Thomas Frank has predicted that his side will face Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku in tomorrow’s Premier League meeting.

Brentford host current league leaders Chelsea this Saturday in their first match since the international break.

There is a lot of uncertainty around who Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has available to him this weekend, something that may become clearer in his Friday pre-match press conference.

Lukaku, 28, had to withdraw during the international break with “muscle fatigue”. However, the left-footed striker has been pictured in Blues training since.

Frank is fairly certain that his Brentford team will need to contend with the Belgium international.

“Speaking about Lukaku, it’s a waste of time, I think. Let’s see, I’m pretty sure he will stand out on the centre circle already when the ball kicks off on Saturday!” Frank said.

It’s Lukaku’s time to shine against Brentford

For Chelsea, they signed a prolific frontman because in so many games last season they lacked a ruthless finisher.

This is a Blues squad that should create lots of chances when they are in the mood, so they’re going to find out in the next month if Lukaku is the answer to their prayers.

A kinder fixture run on paper gives Tuchel’s men the opportunity to build up ahead of steam.

Brentford may prove a tough nut to crack at home, but they’ve signed Lukaku for exact moments like this. Paul Merson has previously warned the forward to get “a bit cuter around the box”.

Chelsea need to rise to title claims

There is a pressure on this Chelsea squad that didn’t exist last year due to the fact many are tipping the to be right in the mix for the league crown.

It’s going to be interesting to see how all the youngsters in the team deal with the extra noise.

Fortunately, senior figures within the squad like Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kante should be calming influences.
